Nutrition for the Community

Many people who experience trauma and extremely stressful events are diagnosed with autoimmune, endocrine diseases, and mental health illnesses. Mainstream healthcare services and the medications prescribed by their providers are costly. Many of these individuals believe they should have access to integrative forms of healthcare, such as medical nutrition therapy and access to lifestyle recovery and food insecurity resources. However, most insurance companies do not cover medical nutrition therapy, which leaves many people unable to receive such services. Discover Your Greatest Self provides pro bono medical nutrition therapy services and both lifestyle recovery and food insecurity education to individuals and indigent residents of the Tampa Bay area who have no other resources for their health care needs.
