Healing Mechanisms of Herbs: How to Rid Disease

Controversies of Herbal Medicine
I find it quite disheartening, that herbs are a verified source of healing for specific conditions that arise in the human body and people still find a reason to frown at the idea of it. What is even more disappointing is that holistic practitioners are often discredited by conventional practitioners in western developed countries. In eastern cultures such as China, practitioners are utilizing traditional and allopathic medicines in an integrative fashion and getting results. . Frankly, they have been doing this for about 5,000 years now. Also, there are so many clinical studies that prove holistic methods work without conventional methods. In addition, these methods can work alongside allopathic practices, too.
What people more than often fail to understand, is that the modern medicine we use today was invented because of the science found behind many of the herbs we use in holistic practices. . Yet, with all this evidence, conventional practitioners still have a biased outlook and negative reaction to clients that may want to pursue holistic methods. Even worse, is most of these same practitioners use these methods at home for their own personal regime.
Natures Tools for Survival
In studying clinical nutrition, it is my overall belief that nature has provided us with a variety of tools (plants) to use to fight against nature’s disease-causing organisms. We as humans catch these diseases and our bodies naturally try and fight them. Sometimes we do need a boost due to a lifetime of poor management of our bodily temples. This boost is... that we need the relief of these disease-causing organisms, and this relief is provided by plants.
Two plants I have specific interest in are edible plants such as turmeric and garlic. I think these are natural survival tools. Not only are these yummy, but I have personally witnessed the healing effects of both of these two. In combination, you'd be surprised at what these two can do for an individual. Both these plants can be beneficial to many areas of the body. Their benefits in a particular individual all depend on which organ systems that individual plans to use them for.
When considering turmeric, I love to cook with it to add color. Turmeric is also known as Curcumin or Curcuma. . It helps with lowering cholesterol, aids in liver function, aids in gallbladder function, and immune function. . It is also a powerful antioxidant, as well. . Tumeric is well known for its anti-inflammatory effects. . As well, it helps fight colds, flu, and coughs. . Turmeric also has been known to aid in fighting different kinds of cancer, arthritis. .
Garlic, on the other hand, seems to be a treatment option for everything. It is known for healing colds, flu, sore throats, and sluggish digestion. . Garlic is an anti-inflammatory herb. . Also, it promotes the production of WBC and is an immune booster. . Garlic improves cholesterol and also lowers blood pressure. . It has antibacterial, antiseptic, and antimicrobial properties that help fight against infectious disease, as well. . Garlic’s microbial properties work mainly by way of supporting the respiratory system. It works well with Eninacea and will support natural bacteria while ridding the body of pathogenic organisms. .
Herbs for Healing
Using herbs should not be frowned upon when all this evidence points to the healing properties they can provide. Medicine would not be prevalent if it were not for herbal medicine treatments in history. The practitioners that believe in eating healthy and using herbal remedies do not often enough, discuss these options with patients. These behaviors lead to bias and misperception, falsies, as well as stereotypes about holistic practices.
People should do more research into how science has now not only been able to prove holistic methods work but how they come to create pharmaceuticals from herbs and nutrient properties. Perhaps then we can all eliminate our biases toward the world of natural healing, and begin to give our bodies longevity.
